  • This appointment by the GAS NATURAL FENOSA Board of Directors signals the return of the post of Honorary President after a 17-year absence.
  • Gabarró will also remain President of the Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation.

GAS NATURAL FENOSA’s Board of Directors, chaired for the first time by Isidre Fainé, reached a unanimous decision at its ordinary meeting held in Barcelona to appoint Salvador Gabarró as the energy group’s Honorary President, a post that had remained vacant since Pere Durán Farell’s death in 1999.

Salvador Gabarró’s appointment, as well as his continuation as President of the Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation, is in recognition of his professional career and experience, as stated in the board meeting minutes.

In the words of the President of GAS NATURAL FENOSA, Isidre Fainé, “his appointment is a richly deserved recognition of an exemplary director, whose exceptional contribution and dedication have helped the company to position itself, grow and lead the way. As Honorary President and the President of the Gas Natural Fenosa Foundation, he will carry out the necessary work of representing the company”.

In response Salvador Gabarró said “I can only express my humble appreciation of this appointment. In carrying out my current responsibilities, which I start today with great enthusiasm and has my total commitment, I hope to continue contributing towards the company’s growth”.

Gabarró, as reported in the minutes of the board meeting, will carry out his role as Honorary President by fulfilling the institutional representative duties entrusted to him by the Board or its President.
